Justin Ott – Men's Swim and Dive
Freshman diver Justin Ott (Britton, Mich.) won the 3 meter dive event with a score of 464.80 at the Phoenix Fall Classic over the weekend, which qualified him for the NCAA Championships.
Ott placed third at in the one meter dive with 438.05. Both of these scores were school records for their respective categories.
The Swim and Dive teams wrapped up their competition for the year and will return on Jan. 12 at Wayne State beginning at 5 p.m.
Amanda Thielen - Women's Swim and Dive
Junior swimmer Amanda Thielen earned another first place finish on the year in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:02.16. Also, Thielen grabbed a 56.64 time in the 100 breaststroke. Both of these finishes qualifies her for the NCAA Championships next year in both events.
The Cardinals are off until Friday, January 12, when they travel to compete against conference foe Wayne State University. That meet is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. in Detroit.
